Senator Olufemi Lanlehin (SOLAN), Oyo State African Democratic Congress, (ADC) governorship candidate, today joins Nigerians in general, and Oyo State indigenes and residents in particular, to usher in the new year 2019.
He felicitates with the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso I, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Oladunni Oyewumi, Ajagungbade III, and other Obas in Oyo State, wishing them many more years on the throne of their forebears.
Equally, Senator Lanlehin rejoices with Senator Rasidi Ladoja, Chief Michael Koleosho, Dr. Busari Adebisi, Chief Layiwola Olakojo, Ibadan High Chiefs, Mogajis and Baales, praying that God will continue to keep them all in good health.
While appreciating God for the gift of life and the grace to be alive, and the people for their unwavering commitment to the peace and prosperity of the land, despite the serial betrayal from government both at the federal and the state levels, Senator Lanlehin (SOLAN) wishes to assure the people of Oyo State that the good times are almost here, and with their proposed decision to replace this current capitalist and anti people government with a masses based, people friendly, prosperity spreading ADC government, the good times will surely return.
He likes to note that, after years of planning, consultations and interactions, the moment of action is suddenly upon us, given that in the next seven weeks; 16 February, 2019, and 2 March, 2019, National Assembly and Governorship/State Assembly polls will hold respectively. He, therefore, admonishes the good people of Oyo State to vote with all sense of responsibility, remembering that decisions taken during the elections will impact their lives for the next four years.
The Oyo ADC governorship candidate subsequently calls on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to remain an unbiased umpire, and dedicate itself to the conduct of free, fair and credible polls, while calling on politicians to eschew all forms of violence, but promote issue based campaigns, devoid of propaganda, because “occupying public office is a privilege, and not a right”.
Senator Lanlehin (SOLAN) adds that by the grace of God and the support of the good people of Oyo State, a pro people government to be led by him come 29 May, 2019, will restore the dignity of labour, return smiles to people’s faces, joy to their hearts, prosperity to their businesses, and that the ADC will run a government the people can truly call their own, in deference to his Ore Araalu identity.
Senator Lanlehin wishes everyone a happy and prosperous new year.
