Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde will today host Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, five South-West governors, monarchs and industrialists at Ilora Farm Settlement as the state commissions a cassava processing factory, to boost high-quality food production for nationwide distribution.
According to the Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency (OYSADA), “Rontol Foods Factory’s Cassava processing plant at Ilora has an input capacity of 20 tonnes of cassava tubers for processing daily, and it will serve as a major processing centre for the smallholder farmers.
Dignitaries scheduled to attend the event include governors Gboyega Oyetola, Kayode Fayemi, Dapo Abiodun and Rotimi Akeredolu of Osun, Ekiti, Ogun and Ondo states, respectively; the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi; the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi; and Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, among others.
The statement noted that the cassava processing plant, with the support of the state government, would “boost high quality food production for nationwide distribution.”
“According to the Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency, Rontol Foods Factory’s cassava processing plant at Ilora has an input capacity of 20 tonnes of cassava tubers for processing daily and it will serve as a major processing centre for smallholder farmers around the location.
“The state government is supporting with several infrastructural developments, including power and rural roads.
“Rontol Foods is a subsidiary of Rontol Ventures Limited, offering high quality, healthy, portable and convenient ready-to-cook cassava products.”
