The African Regional Office of European-American University, Republic of Panama has awarded the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Agidigbo 88.7 FM, with a Doctor of Arts Honoris Causa [D. Arts] in Information, Communication Management and Corporate Governance.
According to the institution, the award held on Saturday, 29th of April, 2023 at the Nigeria Educational Research & Development [NERDC], is part of the University’s programme to encourage excellence and acknowledge the contribution of respected and distinguished men and women worldwide.
In his address, the President of the European-American University, Dr. John Kersey, noted that the conferment of the honorary doctorate degree on Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat was consequent upon his recommendation by thought and academic leaders who have observed and appreciated his outstanding achievements and contributions in the area of Media and Humanitarian Services.
Speaking after the conferment, Dr. Oriyomi Hamzat said, “this honorary doctorate degree in Arts given to me by the European-American University, is a call to do more for the growth of media and continuous humanitarian service to everyone in Nigeria, Africa and the rest of the world.”
Dr. Hamzat further expressed his gratitude to the Senate Committee of the European-American University for finding him worthy of the conferment while restating his commitment to the values that brought about the honor.
Other eminent personalities honored at the event include business mogul, Macdonald Okechukwu, Engineering and Construction giant, Prince Adeniyi Oladeinde, Hon. Chukwudi Nnamdi, Alhaji Nureni Olaleye among others.
