The chairman of the Oyo state Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (OYRUWASSA), Engineer Najeem Omirinde has urged Ibadan Mogajis to build toilet facilities in their respective family houses.
Omirinde said this while featuring on a radio program known as ‘Lawujo Wa’ on Thursday, in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
Omirinde urged them to complement the Seyi Makinde-led administration’s efforts in the fight against Open Defecation in the state.
He added that many family houses in Ibadan are without toilet facilities adding that the Mogajis have a key role to play in achieving Open Defecation Free status.
He commended chairmen of Ona-ara and Egbeda Local Government Areas, Chiefs and Baales for their contribution and supports to make the two local government areas to be the first LGAs in the state to become Open Defecation Free.
He also urged every community leader to take care of any water facilities provided by gorvernmrnt in their respective communities.
He added that they should see the water facilities as their own.
