The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oorelope Local Government, Igboho, on Tuesday, ratified the continuity in office of Alhaji Azeez Adeoti as the chairman of the party for another four years.
The party took the decision at the congress held at the Town Hall, Owode Igboho, under the supervision of the PDP Returning Officer from the state, Mr. Luqman Adejumobi and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Party leaders and loyalists from the 10 wards of the local government had converged on the Town Hall, dancing and hailing the good works of the Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, ahead of the process.
Speaking shortly after the congress, the Oorelope Local Government chairman, Hon. Akeem Raheem and the Special Assistant (Print Media) to Governor Seyi Makinde, Mr. Moses Alao, described the Congresss that returned Adeoti as orderly and satisfactory.
The council chairman, who maintained that the exercise that produced Adeoti and other local government party executives as satisfactory and laudable, said everyone can rest assured that the PDP is in good hands under the leadership of Governor Makinde.
Similarly, SA Print Media to the Governor, Moses Alao, commended the administration of the party under the insightful leadership of the governor, stating that the conduct of the Local Government congresses across the state has proven Makinde as a true Democrat.
He equally commended the Local Organising Committee for the Oyo State PDP Congresses under the chairmanship of Senator Hosea Ayoola Agboola as well as the Secretary, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke.
Alao also congratulated the new party chairman and all members of the Exco at the wards and local levels in Oorelope Local Government, calling on the teeming members of the party to continue to support Governor Makinde, whom he said means well for the state and the PDP.
Some of the leaders in attendance at the congress include former Oyo North Senatorial Chairman, Alhaji Yakubu Oladoja; former LG chairman, Hon. Yinusa Adekunle Yusuff; former member of the former House of Assembly member, Hon. Lukman Balogun; Hon. Tajudeen Adeniran; Hon. Asinmi Adelakun (Apon); Alhaji Yusuff Sarafadeen Alani and a former chairman of the defunct ACN, Mr. Moses Fatowo.
Others were the incumbent Vice Chairman, Hon. Duro Atoyebi; Alhaji Moshood Adewale, a former Vice Chairman of the Local Government; Alhaji Rasaq Ajibade; Alhaji Wasiu Yusuff (Wey); Alhaja Medinat Rabiu and many others.
