The chairman of Oorelope local government area of Oyo state, Honourable Jacob Oluwale Ogundiran has commenced the dredging of the Obada river in the local government.
This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday by the media unit of the chairman.
According to the statement, the chairman said the dredging is to clear the water way and allow easy flow of water.
Ogundiran said this will help prevent flooding as the raining season approaches.
While thanking the good people of Oorelope local government area for their support since the commencement of his administration, he urged them to continue praying for the Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration in the state.
His words: “We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our people, and the dredging of Obada river is a critical step towards preventing flooding and ensuring easy flow of water. We will continue to work tirelessly to protect our people and their properties.
