Tuesday, December 17, 2024, marked a significant milestone in the history of Ijeru Kingdom, Ogbomoso, as His Royal Majesty, Oba Sunday Oladapo Oyediran, the Lagbami Osekun III, Onpetu of Ijeru Kingdom, celebrated his 25th year on the throne.
The occasion was commemorated with an empowerment program, food bank distribution, and community development initiatives, held at the iconic Onpetu Palace, Ijeru Oba, Ogbomoso.
Oba Sunday Oladapo Oyediran reflected on the medical outreach program held between October 31st and November 3rd, 2024, praising the medical team for their dedication.
He emphasized the importance of giving back to the community, stating that “leaders must prioritize the well-being of our people.”
The monarch also spoke about the significance of his 25th-anniversary celebration, noting that it marks 25 years since he received the staff of office from the then-governor, Alhaji Lam Adesina.
Oba Sunday Oladapo Oyediran expressed his gratitude to several individuals and groups, including Governor Seyi Makinde, Deputy Governor Barrister Bayo Lawal, and Hon. Oyedokun Oyeniyi Timothy, Chairman of Ogbomoso South Local Government.
In a separate speech, Hon. Oyedokun Oyeniyi Timothy commended Oba Sunday Oladapo Oyediran’s leadership and vision, praising his empowerment programs and food bank initiative as a testament to his dedication to the welfare of the people.
The empowerment program and food bank distribution were attended by dignitaries, including Hon. (Chief) Babatunde Oduyoye, Hon. Ayotunde Fatokun, Hon. Olamide Akinajo, Former Chief Press Secretary to Governor Makinde, Taiwo Adisa, among others.
