The Onigbope of Igbope Land, Oba Dr Mosess Olawale Oyetola. Fabiyi (1V) Ilufemiloye 1, has praised Governor Seyi Makinde for signing the N892 billion 2026 Appropriation Bill into law.
The traditional ruler urged political appointees, government officials, and residents to support the governor in implementing the budget, emphasizing the need for collective effort to ensure its success.
“We must all rally behind Governor Makinde to ensure the successful implementation of this budget, which is designed to drive economic growth and improve the lives of Oyo State citizens,” Oba Oyetola said.
The budget, tagged “Budget of Economic Expansion,” prioritizes infrastructure development, education, healthcare, and economic empowerment.
Key allocations include N210.02 billion for infrastructure, N155.21 billion for education, and N70.81 billion for healthcare.
The Onigbope of Igbope Land’s commendation comes as Governor Makinde’s administration continues to emphasize realistic budgeting and improved budget performance.
The governor has also announced plans to present a supplementary budget if surplus funds or improved revenues arise.
“We dare to be different. We want to expand our economy and depend less on federal allocation because that is the only path to sustainable growth,” Governor Makinde said, highlighting the budget’s focus on production over consumption.
