After dumping the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PD), Ibrahim Olanrewaju Ajiboye (Omo Iya Eleja) on Friday, has emerged as the federal House of Representatives candidate of the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) for Ibadan Southeast, Northeast Federal Constituency.
Omo Oya Eleja is a federal lawmaker hopeful who left the PDP party a few weeks ago, owing to the injustice and self-centeredness of the People’s Democratic Party.
It was gathered that Omo Iya Eleja emerged as a candidate of NNPP after an extensive meeting of the party leadership chaired by Ibadan Northeast and Southeast party chairmen, Hon. Iyiola Taiwo (Northeast) and Hon. Waheed Karim (Southeast).
In his appreciation message, Ibrahim Omo Iya Eleja said, ” It is in my deepest heart I say a big thank you to all the party members, especially the delegates who were present here today for our party primary election for Ibadan Northeast, Southeast federal constituency.
“Thanks for making me the candidate to represent the party in the coming general election, I hope we can continue to work together for the success of the NNPP in all elections. Your support will not be taken for granted and will always be remembered and appreciated.” Omo Iya Eleja thanked the delegates and present party faithful.
While addressing the party leaders and members, Hon. Iyiola Taiwo the NNPP chairman, Ibadan Northeast said, Omo Iya Eleja won the party ticket for Ibadan Northeast, the Southeast federal constituency based on his humanity to the masses and political antecedent in the constituency.
“We have entrusted the future of our party in the federal constituency to him, he is a candidate to beat, before, we had two aspirants vying for the ticket but, we have celebrated and resolved to Ibrahim Omo Iya Eleja, he is a sellable candidate and his humanitarian services in all the communities that made up the constituency will speak for him; with him, I am sure our party will win the federal constituency seat with ease.” Hon. Iyiola stated.
