A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Oyo state, Alhaji Ademola Oyepeju has attributed the slow phase of development in Oluyole local government area of Oyo state to lack of competent people with genuine interest in the development of the area.
He made this known in a chat with journalists in Ibadan recently.
Oyepeju said “Though the council is big in term of landmass and population but the quality of representation is too low and come 2023 the people will make a better choice that will better the lives of our people
“Take for instance most of the communities in the council are rural community, they don’t have basic amenities, poor infrastructural facilities, many school buildings are dilapidated and some don’t even have chairs in their classrooms.
“That council is part of the food basket of Oyo state, but our farmers have no access to loans and inputs from government to boost their businesses. If we have right people in place all these things would have been catered for.
“Like I said earlier, the people of Oluyole are wiser now, they will never support people with no idea of what they are going through. As a grassroot politician, I do visit our people from time to time and I know what they are going through. I am offering the little help i could through Ara Foundation which I started few years ago basically to assist the less privilege”.
