In his quest to boost food security and production in his Federal Constituency, the Federal Lawmakers has distributed soya seedlings and cash to farmers.
Hon Olumide Ojerinde who represents Irepo, Olorunsogo, Oorelope Federal Constituency at the National Assembly Abuja, made the distribution during the training and empowerment organize for youths and women in Soya Beans for value addition.
The event which took place at the Bayo Ojerinde Memorial Hall Oke – Afin, Igboho in Oyo state, was monitored and supervised by the African Union Development Agency.
In his facilitation, Dr Mrs Okunlade Sijuade painstakingly trained the participants on the modern techniques in Soya beans seedlings and how to transform soya beans into different kind of finished products which is in high demand in the market, she also highlighted on the benefits of soya beans farming to the economy as this would encourage many to invest in the Soya farming at large scale.
Also speaking at the event, The Personal Assistant to Honorable Olumide Ojerinde, Mr Abiodun Adeyemi who appealed to the participants not to relent in their supports and prayers as The Honourable rolls out more meaning and community based empowerment program that will improve the well being of the good people of the Federal Constituency.
In his remarks, he said the participants has benefited immensely from many other empowerment programs, noting that the Honourable did not ascribe to party or religious affiliations.
Bags of Soya Beans were distributed while take off grant were given to all the beneficiaries.
In the same vein, the All Progressives Congress Chairman in Oorelope local government, Mr Muhammad Wahab urge them to keep supporting Ojerinde, stating that Ojerinde has been a worthy Ambassador of the old Irepo local government. Among other dignitaries at the event includes Party chairmen, women leader, youth leader, party faithful, farmers group among others.
