Engr Joshua Olukayode Popoola (POJ) has described the late Olubadan of Ibadan, Ọba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso 1 as a monarch who was full of courage in dealing with issues related to Ibadan as he was keen to see that nothing stands in the way of growth development of the city.
In his tribute to Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso 1 who passed away on the 2nd Jan 2022 after a brief illness in Ibadan, POJ said the Late Olubadan was a man who paid key attention to every matter brought to him, and objectively resolved crisis.
He said he managed the land of Ibadan well to the best of his knowledge and ability.
His words: “The late king was a promoter of peace, a patriotic citizen of Oyo state and Nigeria, who has in his own way set the pace through his peaceful and harmonious style of leadership.
“The late monarch has left a legacy to be remembered by all and sundry and at this arduous moment, I pray for unending peace in the family of late Olubadan and in Ibadanland as a whole.
“My thoughts, prayers, and heart are with the royal family and other ruling families of Ibadan land. May God Almighty grant the family fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss, and grant the late king eternal rest.
“His tremendous contributions to the growth and development of Ibadan land cannot be overemphasized. Baba has extremely done well to this land and Ibadan sons and daughters would continue to appreciate his reign”.
While appreciating the outstanding life lived by the late king of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji, Engr. Popoola also pray for a Peaceful and successful process of succession which is the age long Hallmark of Ibadan rulership.
