Barr. Adebayo Shittu’s many years in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, has finally been rewarded.
This Friday, November 10th, 2017, all roads will lead to the Popoyemoja Palace of the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji where the Saki-born Communications Minister will be conferred with honourary chieftaincy title of Agbaakin Afiwagboye of Ibadan land.
This is coming after many postponement of the ceremony.
Insideoyo.com was told some powerful political forces had tried unsuccessfully to prevent Shittu, a former lawmaker and commissioner, from been installed by the monarch.
Fixed for 10:00 am in the morning, guests will later be entertained at Jogor Events Centre, off Liberty Road, Oke-Ado, Ibadan.
Shittu, who has lived in the ancient city for close to five decades, is one of the top contenders for Oyo 2019 governorship election under the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
He contested the 2011 governorship election under the defunct Congress for Progressives Change, CPC.
