The Mogaji Ilé Ògúntégbè Labo Ibadan, Chief Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe has commiserated with sons, daughters of Ibadan and the Olubadan family over the passage of the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji Ajeogunguniso I.
Tegbe, a gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC said Olubadan demonstrated genuine leadership by contributing to both local and statewide issues objectively.
He made this known in a statement made available to newsmen on Sunday.
It reads” With the sudden demise of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Ibadanland, Oyo State and indeed Yoruba land has lost a great Monarch.
“In his lifetime, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji demonstrated genuine leadership by contributing to both local and statewide issues objectively. He was humane, cerebral and accomodating.
“His reign brought peace and progress to Ibadan and his memories will remain evergreen in the minds of the people.
“I condole with Olori, Olubadan in Council, the body of Mogajis, the Oyo state Council of Obas, Oyo State Government and all sons and daughters of Ibadanland in general on the sudden demise of our King.
“My heart and prayers are with the Adetunji family at this period. Kabiyesi lived a fulfilled life worthy of emulation. I pray God grants him eternal rest.”
