In a landmark event, Honourable Qozeem Olayanju, Chairman of Olorunsogo Local Government, welcomed all former local government chairmen to the secretariat on Tuesday.
This unprecedented gathering marked a significant milestone in the council’s history.
During his welcoming address, Chairman Olayanju expressed his appreciation for the time taken by the past chairmen to attend the meeting, which he described as a “precious memory” for him.
He emphasized the importance of unity and community growth, stating that the meeting aimed to bring together experienced leaders to share ideas and work towards the development of the community without political bias.
The chairman announced plans for regular monthly meetings to facilitate productive discussions and outcomes.
Additionally, he revealed the upcoming inauguration of the Advisory Council Committee, which will feature two selected chairmen from among the ex-chairmen. He quoted, “Two are better than one,” highlighting the value of collaboration.
The past chairmen praised Chairman Olayanju’s initiative, hailing it as a brilliant and excellent move.
They expressed their support for the community’s growth, unity, harmony, peace, and success.
The past chairmen also emphasized the need for unity and cooperation within the Advisory Council, stressing the importance of clear decision-making and well-considered advice.
