Fasasi also hailed the Governing Council of the institution and the consultant for ensuring the project was carried out at a reasonable period of time.
He said: “I am full of gratitude to God Almighty for the completion of this project within the spate of Eight (8) months. The project was facilitated by His Excellency, Governor Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde and approved by the Governing Council with the able supervision of the Financial Consultant ably led by the Chairman Platinum I.T. Asset Consultant, who ensured that the construction was carried out at a reasonable period of time.
“The template for the Laboratory Complex had been on ground for years and the Council and the Management on coming on board tried severally to convince the consultant on the need to have the complex which will invariably add to the infrastructures needed for accreditation of our courses.
“The approval for the take off of the construction of the complex was thereafter granted by the Consultant through direct labour.
“The total amount of One Hundred and Three Million, Five Hundred and Thirty Three Thousand Naira (#103,533,000.00) only, saved from the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) was used for the construction of the Laboratory Complex. These fund and its utilization was prudently managed with the assistance of the Council and the Chairman Platinum I.T. Assets Consultant. In no doubt, the accreditation of our Science-based courses will sail through easily, because this laboratory is one of the basic requirement needed for accreditation of courses.
“Your Excellency Sir, this institution will forever be grateful to you for this, and at the same time, I wish to request from you the fund needed to equip these laboratories. These includes Scientific Equipment and Machineries needed for the laboratories to function effectively. There is also the need to furnish all the offices and units in the Laboratory for effective use. All this I hope and pray that His Excellency will approve in order to put the Laboratory Complex into use for the on-coming Accreditation exercise.
“The Institution deemed it fit to name this complex after you (Engineer Oluseyi Makinde Laboratory Complex) because of your commitment to Education”
