Poor access to quality veterinary care is a major challenge for livestock and animal health in Nigeria, especially in Oyo state, a hub for poultry production. Many livestock farms are located in areas that are difficult for veterinarians to reach.
To address this, the One Health and Development Initiative (OHDI) has partnered with Stargate Information Services (Stargate Info), a marketing agency specializing in health promotion and health tech marketing, to promote the use of RORE (Responsive One Health Resource Engine) in Oyo state.
Developed by OHDI, RORE is an AI-powered chatbot that provides 24/7 health support across human, animal, plant, and environmental domains. RORE was introduced at the General Meeting of the Association of Private Veterinary Medical Practitioners (APVMP) Oyo state chapter on Tuesday, 2nd September, 2025, in Ibadan.
At the event, OHDI representatives Dr. Okuonghae Pere-Ere and Dr. Ololade Adigun presented RORE as a digital platform designed to solve challenges in veterinary practice. Dr. Adigun explained, “RORE’s usage will help to improve veterinary practice visibility, increase business growth opportunities, and improve access to animal health services.”

She added that RORE is a “breakthrough tool in bridging critical gaps in healthcare and veterinary service delivery,” empowering users with accurate, evidence-based responses and connecting them to verified experts through trusted referral pathways.
Veterinary professionals were encouraged to visit www.askrore.com to create an account and list their practices on the platform’s directory. Dr. Adigun highlighted RORE’s role in integrating all sectors of the One Health approach, noting that the platform fosters collaboration among professionals and creates a centralized directory for easy connection.
“By linking human, animal, plant, and environmental health, RORE ensures a holistic approach to solving health challenges, empowering both communities and professionals,” she said.

According to Dr. Adigun, the RORE platform already has over 1,500 active users and a growing WhatsApp community of 1,800 livestock farmers, many of whom need veterinary services. She also revealed that OHDI plans to roll out telehealth features on RORE to enable remote consultations, which will improve accessibility for pet and livestock owners in remote areas and generate new revenue streams.
“With an increasing number of users, registering your veterinary practice on RORE is a great opportunity to build a client base,” she stated.
In response to questions, OHDI representatives assured the veterinarians that all listed professionals and practices would undergo a thorough verification process to enhance credibility. The event was well-attended by key stakeholders, including executives and members of the APVMP Oyo state chapter, and Dr. Thompson Ademiluyi, the first private veterinary practice owner in Oyo state, who began his practice in 1979.
