The Speaker, Oyo state House of Assembly, Hon Adebo Ogundoyin, Hon Olusola Owolabi (Ibadan North East constituency 2) and member representing, Ibadan South West state constituency 1 in Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon Yusuf Oladeni Adebisi have been honoured by the Royal African Young Leadership Forum of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Babatunde Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II.
Hon. Adebisi, who is Deputy Chief Whip and the youngest lawmaker in the history of Oyo State, was among one hundred young Nigerians celebrated by the first class monarch.
He was honoured with Leadership and Governance Award for his outstanding achievement in governance and politics at the event held at Oduduwa Hall, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Osun State.
By this award, Hon Adebisi has been installed as one of Ooni’s Royal Ambassadors and inducted into the Royal Court.
The imperial Majesty, Oba Adegeye Ogunwusi described Hon. Adebisi as one the new crops of young Nigerians who are redefining governance, leadership and entrepreneurship, and are making waves in their chosen careers.
The Ooni maintained that the youth everywhere in the country have been at the epicenter of his royalty since ascending the throne as the Arole Oduduwa, hence the establishment of the Royal African Young Leadership Forum.
He added that young Nigerians with amazing success stories like Hon. Yusuf Adebisi fall into the category of the Africans of the future
The first class monarch congratulated Hon. Adebisi on the award and urged him to continue to be one of the voices of the young population in the country by doing things differently, rightly and outstandingly.
In his reaction, shortly after he was handed the award by the Minister for Sports and Youth, Mr. Sunday Dare, the lawmaker dedicated the honour to the entire people of Ibadan South West state constituency one, Oyo State government and the entire good people of the state.
Hon. Adebisi said that the honour will not only encourage him to continue to be a good representative of his constituents, but also to spur him to be forward looking as a young Nigerian politician.
“I am so excited and ecstatic by the recognition and honour bestowed on me and other ninety-nine young Nigerians by the Oonirisa and I will continue to inspire my generation and generations yet unborn for greatness,” Hon Adebisi assured.
The award presentation was attended the United Arab Emirates Ambassador to Nigeria, Dr Fahad Obaid Mohammed Al-Fattaq.
