In a decisive move to strengthen grassroots healthcare delivery, the Executive Chairman of Ogbomoso South Local Government, Hon. Oyedokun Oyeniyi Timothy, has distributed an extensive array of medical equipment to primary health centres across the council area.
The distribution exercise, held at the local government secretariat in Ogbomoso, saw over 45 categories of essential medical tools and supplies delivered to support quality and affordable healthcare for residents.
Speaking during the event, Hon. Oyedokun emphasized the importance of accessible medical care at the local level. “This intervention is aimed at improving the standard of healthcare available in our communities. Every resident of Ogbomoso South deserves timely and quality medical attention,” he stated.
Among the donated items were hospital beds, microscopes, weighing scales, stethoscopes, suction pumps, autoclave machines, delivery cots, and X-ray viewers. The full list includes:
12 hospital beds
4 stainless trays with instruments
3 vaginal speculums
1 suction pump
2 centrifuge machines
3 stethoscopes
2 digital thermometers
100 blood sample tubes
4 drip stands
1 autoclave machine
4 X-ray viewers
5 foetoscopes
And many more tools critical to maternal care, diagnostics, and infection control.
The Chairman reaffirmed that the initiative is in alignment with the healthcare development goals of the Omituntun 2.0 agenda under Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration.
“This is not just a donation, it is an investment in the health and future of our people. We appreciate all stakeholders who joined us in making this milestone possible,” he added.
Local healthcare workers, community leaders, and representatives from the primary health sector were in attendance to witness the equipment handover, applauding the council’s proactive approach to healthcare delivery.
This marks another fulfilled promise from Hon. Oyedokun’s administration, reinforcing its commitment to a healthier and more resilient Ogbomoso South.
