According to Mallam Nalado, the Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic mini-campus is sitting on 67hectares of land, describing the structures, equipment, teaching aides and human resources (both academic and administrative) as enough to renew accreditation for existing courses and also approval for some newly proposed courses.

He said, “This is not our first time in this school. Last time we came was 2016, and what we met was not that impressive. But this time, the improvement is obvious. I must commend the new management team of the school, especially the Acting Rector and Chairman Governing Council, Dr. Ogundiran.

“We can see their commitment and hardwork to make the school better for the students, by extension for the staff and community. This is the first time I see Chairman Governing Council of a school on ground to receive NBTE team and following us up and down in the course of our exercise.

“I can just say the school now has a better chance to secure they accreditation requests from NBTE this time. We’ve make our recommendations on some adjustments they need to make and soon we will send delegates to confirm if these adjustments are made.”

The Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, is formerly know as The Ibarapa Polytechnic, Eruwa. The school has and students since its autonomy in 2014 has suffered unaccredited courses crisis, why its graduates cannot be mobilised for the compulsory scheme- National Youth Service Corps, NYSC.

In his words, the Chairman Governing Council, Dr. Samuel Ogundiran appreciated the NBTE team, the Council Member, the school Management and entire staff for the success of the three-in-one exercise.

According to him, the exercise includes accreditation of programmes, verification of existing programmes and measures that could be employed to improve and enhance the standards of the institution.

“I appreciate the efforts of Oyo State Government for making the exercise a success despite short notification. The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, Our Governor Engineer Seyi Makinde, thank you for always showing maximum interest in the development of the institution since it faced the challenge of non-accreditation of courses during the 2016-2017 academic session.

“Now, we are on the path of success. We are adding some new courses like Architecture, mechanical engineering, accountancy, purchasing and supply, civil engineering, et al, and likewise we are increasing our capacity in admitting more students,” he added.

The Acting Rector, Peter Adejumo assured the NBTE team of the school ready to put in place all their recommendation, saying the officials will be more impressed on their next visit and will not regret their support to the school.

He said, “This institute is a communal heritage and our elders are always around to support us. They’re here now and definitely they will also give us needed support to meet up with every recommendations.

“We can not but acknowledge the political will and interest of Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin who always support us as even the school is his personal project, just as the immense contributions of his late father Chief Adeseun Ogundoyin led to the establishment of the institution in Eruwa.”
