The Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society of Nigeria (NASFAT) will on Saturday, kickstart the 16th edition of its Youth Conference with various programs in Ibadan, Oyo state capital.
The conference with the theme “Digital Economy and Youth Entrepreneurship: Breaking New Ground,” will take place at Ilaji Hotel and Resorts.
Speaking during a press conference held on Thursday, the chairman for the conference, Abdullahi Lasisi said the conference is aimed to empower young individuals with the necessary tools and knowledge to succeed in the digital age.
Lasisi urged the government to prioritize and invest in digital infrastructure development in order to equip many young individuals with the necessary digital skills who recognize the immense potential of the digital economy in driving economic growth and job creation.
“We expect the government to do more in the area of infrastructure, and we have hope that the current administration will embark on initiatives that promote the digital economy and invest more in infrastructure.” He said.
He added that the youth conference organized by NASFAT would provide a platform for young individuals to engage in discussions, gain valuable insights, and equip themselves with essential skills for success in the digital age.
“With the rapid transformation of industries worldwide, the conference underscored the importance of the government’s role in creating an enabling environment that supports youth innovation and entrepreneurship.”
Also speaking, Kabir Raji, the National Youth Secretary of NASFAT, highlighted the significance of this year’s conference theme.
He said: “The theme serves as a reminder for all of us to step out of our comfort zones, challenge ourselves, and strive for excellence in all aspects of our lives.”
Raji emphasized the importance of breaking away from old habits and patterns, particularly in the current fragile global economy where every nation is striving to survive.
