Special Assistant to Oyo state Governor on Oyo state Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC), Hon. Tallest Innocent, has reiterated the need for massive enrollment in the ongoing registration and issuance of Permanent Voter Cards, by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to enable greater participation in the electoral process ahead of the 2023 general election.
The Governor’s aide said this on Wednesday while receiving the leadership of Igbo Motor Spare Parts dealers Association in Ibadan, Oyo state.
The leadership of the association were on a courtesy visit to the Governor’s office, state secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.
Tallest while extolling the startling performance of his principal, told the members of the Association that the only way to consolidate on the business friendly environment witnessed in the state is by obtaining their PVCs and participating actively in the electoral process.
“The state of affairs across the country is very worrisome. We have a government at the federal level that have turned deaf ears on the yearnings of the populace, as if we are lesser being; causing untold hardship, general insecurity and divisions across religious and ethnic lines. But here in Oyo state, we have a leader who has redefined the essence of governance, opened his arms to all law abiding Nigerians not minding language or religion and created a sustainable business friendly state.
“The best way to show appreciation for the transformation you are witnessing in the state today is to ensure it is sustained beyond 2023. As you already know, the only instrument to achieve this is your PVCs.
“Go and mobilize your members to enroll for the exercise to enable them excise their franchise during election” he said.
He further pledged to strengthen the relationship between the Igbo community in Oyo state and the Engr. Seyi Makinde led administration so as to continue enjoying the symbiotic dividends resulting from the business friendly environment witnessed in the pace setter state.
Earlier while presenting the award to Hon. Tallest, the chairman of the Association, Mr. Monday Nwankwo appreciated the Governor’s aide for facilitating a facility upgrade at the Ojoo motor spare parts dealers, noting that the drainage system bedeviling the market is now a thing of the past.
He consequently avowed that the support of his members and the entire Igbo community in Oyo state for the present administration will remain unshaken, especially as the country approaches another general election cycle.
