The Special Adviser to the Oyo State Governor on Culture and Tourism, Hon Akeem Ademola Ige has celebrated Alhaji Ismail Abdul Wahab, the Imam of Nigerian Muslim Community in Canada over his celebration of his birthday.
Ige, a former Minority Leader, described Imam Abdul Wahab as a teacher and a respected religious leader saying his humility among the Muslim brothers in the diaspora distinguished him.
He said Imam Abdul Wahab’s life is full of emulation and lessons for youth.
He said these in a statement personally signed by him and made available to newsmen on Sunday in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
The statement read: “Alhaji Ismail Abdul wahab is the Imam of Nigerian Muslim community in Canada, an Islamic scholar born from Odinjo, Ibadan South East Local government, Oyo state.
Today is your birthday, you are worthy of celebration, your life is full of emulation and lessons for the present and upcoming youths and generations.
“You started from grass to grace. Alhamdulilah, today you are a great philanthropist, care giver, disciplinarian with fear of Allah. I can’t easily forget my brief visit to Toronto in the past where you abode, you received me with warm reception and treated me like a KING.
“Sine your youth days in the street of Odinjo where we grew up together, you were fearless upholder of the truth, a goal getter, rugged, agile, hardworking and focussed, a teacher, prayer warrior, a respected religious leader, Imam of repute.
“Your humility distinguished you among the Muslim brothers in diaspora.
I celebrate you today my dear brother HAPPY BIRTHDAY Imam Ismail Abdul wahab.
Allah rahma be on you always.”
