Oyo State governor, Engr Seyi Makinde has admonished the newly sworn-in corps members to equip themselves with the right values to ensure a brighter, progressive future of the country. described the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) as the future and hope of Nigeria.
Makinde made this statement at the official swearing-in ceremony for the 2019 batch ‘C’ (stream 2) corps members at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Iseyin, Oyo State.
Makinde admonished the newly sworn-in corps members to equip themselves with the right values to ensure a brighter, progressive future of the country.
The governor, ably represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Honourable Seun Fakorede, tasked the corps members to contribute their quota towards nation-building.
“I want to admonish you to see your call to serve as a call to sacrifice for the peace and unity of the country.
“Though many of you may find yourselves in a totally new environment, it should be seen as an avenue to make new friends and break new grounds in your host communities,” he said.
The governor commended the NYSC scheme for bringing the youths of the nation into the same fold, encouraging and fostering unity in the country.
