Oyo state Governor, Seyi Makinde has pledged to provide adequate motivations, proper funding and all it requires to make shooting stars sport club (3SC) a success in Nigerian football.
The Governor gave the assurance when he received top management, players and supporters of the club to his office to discuss on way forward for the club.
While explaining that 3SC has become a generational club with challenges that are surmountable, the Governor noted that he would do all within his power, even if it requires miracle for the club to get promoted.
Governor Makinde also stressed that he would not mix sport administration with politics and promised to give necessary attention to the club, adding that a Special Assistant from his office key would be appointed to oversee 3SC and Crown FC.
Earlier in her remarks, the leader of the delegation who is also Ag Permanent Secretary, ministry of youth and sport, Mrs Olubisi Adegoke and the chairman Oyo state football association, Oba James Adeniran identified lack of policy direction or enabling laws in coordinating affairs of the club as a major challenge and suggested partial privatisation of the club as well as rebranding.
In their various comments while taking responsibilities for the last defeat of the club in Asaba, team manager Dimeji Lawal, general manager Rashidi Balogun, team coach Edith Agoye promised to do their best in repositioning the club for optimal performance while appealing for constant funding and necessary support
