The Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has flagged off the construction project of Airport Road, Ajia-New Ife Express Road with a spur to Amuloko road, oyogist.com reports.
The brief event which took place at Ajia Junction, Ibadan/Ife Road had in attendance top government officials and the residents of Egbeda Local Government Area.
Among the dignitaries present the Flag off of the remarkable project were: the deputy governor of Oyo State, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan; Alajia of Ajia, Oba Nureni Adegbenro, amongst others.
In his speech, the Oyo state governor, engineer Seyi Makinde disclosed that the construction of Airport Road, Ajia-New Ife Express Road with a spur to the Amuloko road project will cost about N8.5 Billion.
“As a result, we decided that it would be best to open up the bidding process so contractors outside of Oyo State can bid as well.“The contract was awarded to Messrs Peculiar Ultimate Concerns Ltd, whose representative, Engr Abel Adeleke, is from the neighbouring Osun State. The contractor has the means to fund the project, and has undertaken that the construction labour will come from Oyo State residents.”

In his remark, the representative of the construction company in charge of the project, Engineer Olanrewaju Adeleke revealed that the project will be completed within 18 months.
