Oyo’s Governor-elect, Engr. Seyi Makinde has appealed to the people of the state to move on in spite of the little distraction caused by the dismissed case instituted by Senator Ayo Adeseun against the Peoples Democratic Party gubernatorial primaries which took place on September 30, 2018.
In a statement signed by Prince Dotun Oyelade, the governor-elect said it was the hallmark of democracy that the minority’s opinion must be heard but must not be allowed to overwhelm that of the majority.
According to him, “that was what the judgement of the court just proved today.”
He praised the court for being objective and dispassionate in its judgement in spite of obvious extra judicial interventions.
Justice Ganiyu Sunmonu of the High Court sitting in Ibadan, on Tuesday dismissed Senator Adeseun’s suit challenging Makinde’s nomination as the PDP’s flagbearer for the 9th March, 2019 governorship election.
