The Governor Seyi Makinde led administration has implemented a community participation in the preparation of local governments budgets for project identification and execution.
The purpose for this is to ensure that projects are people oriented and people demanded, so as to meet specific needs as it directly affects the people.
The State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mrs. Funmilayo Orisadeyi, while speaking at the Aare Latoosa Local Council Development Area’s town hall meeting held at their temporary site within the Ibadan North Local Government grounds today, said Governor Seyi Makinde wants the people to author the project that will be embarked on in their locality.
Mrs. Orisadeyi assured the people that the projects that they identified in the town hall meetings are going to be budgeted and will be embarked upon as soon as possible.
The State commissioner assured that the Primary Health centres in each local government will be working at optimum level to cater for the basic health needs of the people, as health is one of the four cardinal points of the present administration.
The Caretaker Chairman of Aare Latoosa LCDA, Mr. Adeniyi Kazeem said the town hall meeting was borne out of the Governors directive to get the community’s input in making budgetary allocations.
He asserted that the budgets will be open and transparent for easy public scrutiny and to make project progress assessment easy.
