Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State yesterday met women and youth leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC as the forthcoming council polls draw near.
It would be recalled that OYSIEC, last week, announced May 12, 2018 date for the conduct of the council polls.
Drawn from the 33 local government areas of the state, the governor, sources told insideoyo.com, urged them to abide by the decision of the party, adding that they should not allow moneybags to dictate who to vote for in the primaries.
Narrating how Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Sen. Musa Kwankwaso and others became great political leaders, Ajimobi was said to have told those at the meeting that there is no perfect democracy anywhere in the world. He was said to have admonished them to vote for those who are known with the party and not vote buyers.
Ajimobi, insideoyo.com gathered, is to meet the chairmen of the party in all the council areas and elders across the state in a bid to ensure hitch-free primaries.
