After a series of consultations and deliberations among the Ido PDP Party stakeholders, the incumbent Chairman of Ido Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, on Tuesday, emerged consensus candidate for the forthcoming chairmanship election, thereby running for second term.
Adeojo, thereafter, expressed his sincere appreciation to all the leaders of the party in the Council for giving him another opportunity to serve his people at the grassroots level.
While specially thanking the governor of the state, His Excellency, ‘Seyi Makinde, for giving him the platform to serve the people, he equally commended the party chairman of the Council, Hon. Ayuba Akinsola, for showing undiluted cooperation and support throughout the political journey of the first tenure.
“Your Excellency, in fact, ordinary words cannot adequately capture the depth of my gratitude to you. You gave me this platform and I am happy I did not misuse it. I can tell you that I have a Principal whose direction I must follow politically.
“As for my party Chairman, in whom I am well pleased, he has also done well in supporting my administration and I will continue to be grateful to him and the people of the Council.”
While calling on members members of the Ido PDP family to remain firm as one big family, he promised not to disappoint them and do more in terms of delivering dividends of democracy.
He said: “Ab initio, I so much appreciate your support and I want to assure you that I will never let you down. I don’t even have the right words to thank you but I am deeply grateful.”
