Members of the Oyo State Independent Electoral Committee (OYSIEC) led by Isiaka Olagunju on Thursday paid a visit to the secretariat of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State.
In a statement to announce the details of the meeting, the party’s Publicity Secretary, Dr. Azeez Olatunde noted that OYSIEC maintained it will provide a level playing field for all political parties at the local government polls in the state.
The statement read: “Oyo State APC Caretaker Executives under the leadership of Chief Akin Oke received the leadership of Aare Isiaka Abiola Olagunju led OYO OYSIEC that paid working visit to the APC Secretariat.
“In his mission statement, the Chairman of OYO OYSIEC, Aare Abiola Olagunju informed APC Oyo State that upon inauguration by Gov SEYI Makinde, his OYSIEC visited INEC, where they were given Names of 18 Political Parties that operates in Oyo State.
“Oyo OYSIEC Chairman informed us that the OYSIEC decision to visit the Political Parties instead of inviting them to it’s Office for meeting is to assure the Political Parties of the OYSIEC Board decision to give level playing ground for all Political Parties and thus have a paradigm shift in making ELECTORATES VOTES COUNT in the about to be conducted Local Government Election by his Board.
“The OYSIEC Boss solicit for the cooperation of APC in order to deliver FREE, FAIR AND CREDIBLE LG Election.
“The OYSIEC Chairman lauded Chief Akin Oke led APC Executive for the landmark achievement of erecting a SOLID PERMANENT PARTY Secretariat, FIRST in the history of Political Party Administration in Nigeria.
“Finally, the OYSIEC Chairman informed that APC is the 17th Political Party they would be visiting.
“In his response, the Caretaker Chairman of APC in OYO STATE, Chief Akin Oke thanked the 8 Man OYSIEC team for their visitation.
“Chief Akin Oke also used the opportunity to Congratulate Aare Abiola Olagunju, for his new award of Senior Advocate of Nigeria(SAN) and wish him well in his Legal Profession and other life endeavours.
“APC Caretaker Chairman, Chief Akin Oke said the assignment entrusted to the OYSIEC Board is about DEMOCRACY AND RULE OF LAW,which would be the basis of OYO STATE APC relationship with them.
“The OYSIEC team has 7 other members apart from the Chairman while the OYO STATE APC EXECUTIVES Present are, Hon Lekan Adeyemo, Dep Chairman, Alh Hon Mojeed Olaoya, Secretary, Prince Adeboye Adekanye, Oyo South Senatorial Chairman, Alh Rasaq Arikewuyo, Oyo North Senatorial Chairman, Alh Morufu Lamolo, The States Organizing Secretary and Dr AbdulAzeez Olatunde, the Publicity Secretary.”
