According to the communique, they also agreed to always “be with him, on whatever decision he takes, and in wherever direction he goes, now and henceforth, as we affirm our resolute belief in his leadership.”

The communique read: “We, loyalists of Senator Olufemi Lanlehin (Solan), and members of the SOLAN Organisation, a political movement of his supporters and promoters of his ideals of good governance, integrity, selflessness and dedication, consequent upon a meeting chaired by Chief E. O. Laoye, in Oyo Town, on Saturday, 10 April, 2021, resolved as follows:

“I. That we heartily congratulate our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), and our leader, Senator Olufemi Lanlehin (Solan), on the successful conduct so far of the membership registration and revalidation exercise, especially in appreciation of Senator Lanlehin’s invaluable role as its Chairman, Technical and Strategy Committee. The landmark success was a testament to the party’s commitment to uprightness and internal democracy, and a demonstration of Senator Lanlehin’s fidelity to truth, nobility and fairness. We urge our party, the APC, not to detract from this honourable path.

“II. That we fully support Senator Lanlehin’s decision not to seek any elective position in 2023, knowing , that decision was taken after a deep, painstaking and introspective thought process, hinged on foresight, and in the interest of the peace, progress and prosperity of our people, our state, Nigeria, and indeed, the stability of our party. We know only a man of integrity and noble intention can take such strong stance. We, therefore, commend the decision to henceforth concentrate his efforts, time and resources, in the upliftment and betterment of the lives of our people, and in putting our party, the APC, on a sound, secure and strong footing, for future elections.

“III. That we assure Senator Olufemi Lanlehin (Solan), that we shall constantly, like the Northern star, be with him, on whatever decision he takes, and in wherever direction he goes, now and henceforth, as we affirm our resolute belief in his leadership. This solemn pledge we make, in furtherance of our trust in his “Ọmọluabi” virtues, and as a man with a living conscience.

“IV. That we pray the Almighty to lead Senator Olufemi Lanlehin (Solan) aright in the discharge of his service to humanity and the nation at large.”

Recall that insideoyo.com had earlier reported that Lanlehin said he won’t seek any elective position in the next election.

Lanlehin, the gubernatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC in the 2019 general election recently joined the All Progressives Congress, APC.
