Former governor Rashidi Ladoja has explained why he missed Engr Seyi Makinde’s inauguration on Wednesday
Ladoja, in a statement issued by his media aide, Lanre Latinwo on Thursday said yesterday, May 29, marked five years after Ladoja lost his son, Debola Ladoja.
Recall that Insideoyo.com had earlier reported that Ladoja shunned the inauguration of the new Oyo governor.
Ladoja is a chieftain and leader of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP). One of the parties that merged with the People’s Democratic Party, PDP to produce Makinde in the 2019 gubernatorial elections.
The Osi Olubadan said he preferred to stay back so his mourning mood will not have negative impact on those rejoicing beside him.
“The death of 31 years old Debola Ladoja, a promising son of the former Governor of Oyo State exactly five years on 29th of May this year was responsible for the absence of the Ibadan high Chief Rashidi Ladoja.”
The media aide said Ladoja had effectively discussed with Seyi Makinde few hours to the inauguration before his absent.
