Chief Niyi Akintola, SAN and Engineer Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe have ommiserated with former Governor Rashidi Ladoja over the loss of his brother and close political associate Alhaji Lateef Ladoja.
Pa Lateef Ladoja, fondly called Baba Kekere was the Special Assistant on Traditional matters to Former Governor Ladoja.
The two All Progressives Congress, APC Gubernatorial Hopefuls made this known in a separate statements made available to insideoyo.com on Thursday.
Baba Kekere died at the age of 73, in the early hours of Tuesday. He reportedly died as a result of gunshot wounds he sustained during an accidental discharge. The incident occurred after the installation of Gbadamosi Dauda Olaniyi as Mogaji Abidiodan, Itutaba, Oje, Ibadan. It was gathered that the deceased has been buried in line with Islamic rites
Akintola said he received the news of Alhaji Lateef popularly known as Babakekere with shock and disbelief.
He added that “when the news filtered in that the amiable gentleman has been snatched away from us by the cold hands of death the question on everyone’s lips is why him and what happened? But who are we as ordinary mortals to query the almighty God on when and how his handiwork is withdrawn to the hereafter.
“We therefore can only commiserate with the eminent Chief on the untimely exit of his brother and pray that almighty Allah Grant the deceased Aljhanna Firdaus and give the entire family the fortitude to bear the irredeemable loss. Innalilah Waena Illaehi Rajiun.”
Tegbe in his statement said that the incident that led to his death was a reminder on the need to revamp the security architecture in the state.
He said: “I offer my heartfelt condolences to the Osi Olubadan of Ibadanland, High chief Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja on the loss of his brother and aide. May God almighty console him and the family of the decease.
“The incident is a reminder on the need to revamp the security architecture in the state to stall another occurrence of this nature. We cannot keep losing bright minds in our state to needless and avoidable death.
“I pray to almighty God to grant Chief Ladoja and the family of the deceased the fortitude to bear the loss.”
