Former governor of Oyo state and the Osi Olubadan of Ibadan, High Chief Rashidi Ladoja on Tuesday urged the people of Oyo state to support the incoming administration of Engineer Seyi Makinde in the task of transforming the state.
New Nigerian reports that High Chief Ladoja made the plea while speaking at the 6th edition of the Annual Omituntun Ramadan lecture organized by the Oyo State governor elect, Engineer Seyi Makinde.
The former governor who led the coalition of opposition political parties in Oyo State during the March governorship election declared that there was the need for the people of the state to give the incoming administration their full support and cooperation
Emphasizing that the task before the next government in the state was enormous, High Chief Ladoja reassured the people of Oyo state that Engineer Makinde would fulfill his campaign promises.
In his lecture, the Chief Imam of University of Ibadan Central Mosque, Professor Abdul Raman Oloyede urged the Oyo State governor elect, Engineer Seyi Makinde to make justice hallmark of his administration with a view to entrench good governance.
In his lecture titled “Good Governance in Multi -Religion Society” Professor Oloyede quoting relevant Quranic injunctions emphasized the need for for Engineer Makinde to shun injustice and run an all inclusive government.
The Chief Imam of University of Ibadan Central Mosque then urged the governor elect to listen to advice and monitor feedback to know whether people are feeling the impact of government.
Speaking, the Oyo state governor elect, Engineer Makinde thanked the people of Oyo State for defying all odds and vote for his party promising not to let people down.
