A former lawmaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Honourable Olusegun Olaleye popularly known as Radical Brother has commiserated with the State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, the state government and the family of Late Hon Kehinde Ayoola over the demise of the former Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources.
Radical, in a statement made available to insideoyo.com on Saturday described the deceased commissioner as an exemplary politician with core values and wisdom.
The formal lawmaker who represented Ibadan North State Constituency II twice also said that Ayoola’s analytical and intellectual approaches to governance issues will be grately missed.
His words: “RT Hon Kehinde Ayoola is an exemplary academic politician with core values and wisdom. He is so simplistic in approach to life and issues, very accomodating, accessible and humane.
“We will all miss his analytical and intellectual approaches to issues of Governance.
“His loyalty to Governor Seyi Makinde and his administration, while alive remains a solid reference points for history. Adieu Egbon Ayoola.”
Insideoyo.com reports that Ayoola died on May 14, at a private hospital in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital after a brief illness.
He represented Oyo East/West State Constituency between 1999 to 2003 under the Alliance for Democracy, was Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, between 1999 and 2003, during the administration of late Lam Adesina.
He was appointed as Commissioner for Environment following Governor Seyi Makinde’s inauguration in 2019.
Under his watch as the Environment Commissioner, the Oyo State Government inaugurated four environmental tribunals for the enforcement of the state environmental laws.
The late Ayoola, a graduate of Animal Science and Environmental Management and Control, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and married to a Professor of Agronomy, was a member, Association of Environmental Impact Assessment of Nigeria.
