In what looks like a scene in a Yoruba movie, the caretaker chairman of Irepo local government area of Oyo State, Hon. Asif Adeniran was pictured in the early morning of today wrestling with one of the loyalists of former governor Rashidi Ladoja, Hon. Biliaminu Ajana.
Sources who confided in Insideoyo.com said the fight broke out between the duo when Adeniran allegedly kicked the mother of Ajana.
The action, it was learnt triggered the fight. Asif was pictured in white buba material.
Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a witness revealed that Ajana had, yesterday, prevented the council boss from slapping one of the council’s engineers, an action which infuriated him. Asif was said to have allegedly threatened to deal with Ajana’s brother who is said to be the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, chairman in the council.
Earlier this morning, Asif was said to have taken the fight to Ajana’s house where they pounced on each other.
When contacted, Ajana who is the deputy publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Oyo State, declined comment, saying that the monarch of the town, Iba of Kisi, has waded into the matter.
Efforts to get Adeniran’s side of the story proved abortive as calls placed to his airtel number were forwarded to a voicemail number.
