The Oyo state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has approved for the total reconstruction of the Moniya-Iseyin road to a new contractor at a cost of over N9billion.
According to a report by the Nation, he also approved the printing of 100,000 copies of West African Examination Council (WAEC) compendium of past questions and answer of ten years to be distributed free to senior secondary school three (SSS3) students at both the public and private schools across the state.
The project is to be handed by KOPEK construction companmy.
The decisions were parts of resolutions reached at the weekly State Executive Council meeting which held at the Executive Chambers of the Governors office, Agodi Secretariat, Ibadan.
Insideoyo.com recalls that the Governor had earlier announced the revocation of the road contract awarded during the administration of the immediate past government for the sum of N7 billion.
According to him, “the previous government awarded the contract to an Engineering firm that did not have capacity to handle the project”, adding that even though the owner of the firm was known to him, he could not mix friendship with the business of governance.
