The All Progressives Congress in Oyo State on Wednesday queried the state House of Assembly for approving N10bn loan for Governor Seyi Makinde just 55 days in office.
The party in a statement issued bits PRO, Dr Abdul-Azeez Olatunde said the approval clearly “exposed the naivety of both the Executive and the Legislature of the Pacesetter State present government.”
The former ruling party also alleged that the approval was without any Blueprint of the direction the PDP Government is leading Oyo State.
APC also queried why the decision to obtain such huge debt of N10Billion be taken without the state executive council in place and without reviewed before the House of Assembly for the loan to be fixated to the expenditure framework component of the Budget.
The ruling Peoples Democratic Party, in a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Akeem Olatunji, had said the loan was to be used to sanitise Oyo State from the “odious mess caused by the previous regime of Governor Abiola Ajimobi. Therefore, the statement credited to the APC is watery and baseless.”
The party challenged the APC to give details of loans obtained by the last administration of Ajimobi and clarify to the citizens exactly what those loans were used for.
