The Executive Chairman of Iwajowa Local Government, Hon. Muritala Abiodun Oyewumi, on Thursday commissioned a motorised borehole in Ward 09, Iganna, as part of efforts to improve access to potable water for residents.
Oyewumi, who was represented at the event by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Waidi Bolanle Sanni, also inspected the ongoing construction of a police station at Ilaji-Ile and the renovation of a Primary Health Centre in Itasa.
Speaking during the commissioning, the council leadership emphasized its commitment to grassroots development, noting that access to clean water, improved security infrastructure and functional healthcare facilities remain top priorities of the administration.
The newly inaugurated borehole was officially commissioned by His Royal Majesty, Oba Saliu Oyemonla Azeez, the Sabiganna of Iganna, who commended the local government for the intervention and urged residents to take ownership of the project to ensure its sustainability.
The event attracted prominent traditional rulers and community leaders, including Chief Yakubu Oyebanji Oyewumi; the Baale of Ayede Land, represented by the Ikolaba of Ayede; Chief Bada of Iganna; Olokuta-Aka; Chief Onitudi; and Baale Lagboye, among others.
Political leaders in attendance included Alhaji Kazeem Olosanyin, Hon. Timothy Bolarinwa, Hon. Abdullah Azeez and Alhaji Musa Alli.
Also present were key political functionaries such as the Chief of Staff, Hon. Kazeem Hammed; the Deputy Leader of the House, Mustapha Quadry; legislative members; and supervisory councillors.
