The family heads in Ibadan land, otherwise known as Authentic Mogajis on Thursday said they will table feedback from the hoodlums before the governor of the state in the coming week to discuss the way forward.
Recall that with the recent developments as regards security in Oyo State, the state government had in last week set up committee which include security agencies and the family heads in Ibadan North East and Ibadan South East local governments to mediate between the government and the hoodlums.
Leaders of the hoodlums in Ibadan North East local government are; Dada Oto fondly called parkaging; S O J, 350 boys. Also in Ibadan South East are; Kabiru Ojuyobo, Baba Ele, 420 boys, Alhaja Sakiratu Tinko, and iya gbogbo Awon boys.
In a statement issued by the spokesperson, Mogaji Wale Oladoja, the family heads said the hoodlums have agreed to cease fire.
The Mogajis committee set up by the governor of the state to mediate between the state government and the hoodlums are Mogaji Olawale Oladoja, Mogaji Abass Oloko, Mogaji Fatai Olanrewaju, Mogaji Abdu Jelili Adanla, and Mogaji Mosudi Akere.
The statement further assured the people of the state of maximum security in few weeks time, saying “our intervention in a week has been yielding positive result.”
The statement reads in part: “Following our meeting with some of our family members who are engaging in some violence activities in Ibadan land, we have talked to them as our younger ones and they have agreed to a ceasefire. We, therefore, give the foreigners in the bush ultimatum to leave Oyo State.
“We are waiting for a final directive from the governor of the state to lead the troop to the bushes and flush them out. We are worried about the security challenges in the state, especially Ibadan land. We are happy with the feedback we received from our brothers in Ibadan land that the crisis would be soon over,” the statement said.
