As part of the strategic efforts of the Independent National Electoral Commission at decongesting unclaimed large number of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in Oyo State, the Hon REC Barr Mutiu Agboke and his management team paid a courtesy visit to the Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly (OYHA) Hon Joshua Olagunju Ojo and other members of the legislative arm yesterday at the State House of Assembly Secretariat Ibadan.
Hon Rec stressed the need for the designing of a robust framework with all relevant stakeholders especially the legislative arm of government in order to have prompt collection of PVCs as it was more easy to register than to collect PVCs Barr Agboke noted.
He was optimistic of the readiness of the Electoral Body to do things right at every stage of the electioneering process stressing further on the importance and potency of PVCs in the Electoral Process.
Responding, the Speaker Hon Ojo commended Barr Agboke and his management team for the visit, reassuring the Commission on the readiness of his members to sensitize their respective constituencies’ electorate in the collection of their PVCs.
He also used the occasion to commend INEC Oyo State for logistics and other electoral assistance rendered to OYSIEC during the last Local Government Election in the State.
Various electoral issues were entertained by Barr Agboke and INEC Strategic Plan/ Programme of Action documents were also presented to the Hon Speaker.
