The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will conduct bye election in Ibarapa State constituency today to fill the position rendered vacant by the death of the late Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Michael Adeyemo.

Today’s election centered on Olukunle Adeyemo, a brother of the late Michael Adeyemo and Debo Ogundoyin, one of the sons of late industrialist from Eruwa, Chief Adeseun Ogundoyin.
According to Mr Mutiu Agboke, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Oyo State, seven parties are fielding candidates for the vacant position.
They are: Accord Party, People’s Democratic Party, All Progressives Congress, Fresh Democratic Party, Hope Democratic Party, Nigerian Peoples Congress and the Mega Party of Nigeria.
