Oyo State Police Command has removed three mutilated bodies of youths who were murdered by yet-to-be-identified persons in Ibadan, the state capital.
According to reports, the bodies of the victims were discovered in the early hours of Monday around Office Bus Stop, close to World Oil filling station, Ibadan-Oyo Expressway, in Akinyele Local Government Area.
In what appeared to be a case of ritual killings, one of the victims was beheaded, while vital organs were harvested from the remaining two bodies.
When contacted, the police spokesperson in the state, Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the incident, adding that the removal of the bodies was in public interest.
“The corpses were removed this morning (Tuesday). It was done in public interest, public safety and to prevent the spread of epidemic.
“Investigation has already commenced and update will be provided accordingly,” he said.
It was gathered that unpleasant odour had taken over the scene before the police officers took the bodies away.
