All is set for the 2024 edition of the annual NPA/Shoreline Ibadan International Polo tournament which will hold from May 20 to 26, 2024 at the Ibadan Polo Club Grounds, Eleyele Road Ibadan, Oyo state, Nigeria.
The Organizing committee of the tournament made this known while speaking at a press conference, on Friday, in Ibadan.
The Tournament Chairman and Vice President of Ibadan Polo Club, Abimbola Adeyemi said the 7-day event will be the biggest event in the history as teams from Jos, Kano, Kaduna, Lagos and Port Harcourt will be participating in major events such as Ibadan Cup, Rotimi Cup, Ade Alakija Memorial Cup, Shoreline Cup, Governor’s Cup and Prof Jide Owoeye Cup.
Abimbola Adeyemi added that top players/handicaps across the country such as Diego White (+5), Asharaf Yahaya (+3), Kwame Isa (+3), Abdulrahman Mohammed (+3) will be representing their respective teams as spectators are enjoined come in throngs to witness the best ‘sportainment’ in the country
His words: “This year edition promises to be the best than our previous editions in all areas. Apart from the core event among the participants, we shall be having entertainment corner on a daily basis where live bands, DJ, karaoke and many entertainment sessions will be done to spice up the tournament.”
In his remark, Ibadan Polo Club President, Mr Kayinsola Owoeye commended the main sponsor, Shoreline Energy International (Shoreline) and other sponsors for their contributions to the growth of the Polo in Oyo state.
Other partners are Bluechip Technologies, IHS Towers of Strength, MTN, Graham Beck, Banwo & Ighodalo, Macadams, Oyo State Government, Lead City Group and other notable companies.
Also speaking, Entertainment Secretary, Olufela Yomi-Layinka assured of maximum security and provision of medical services to both players and spectators throughout the tournament.

The kick-off match scheduled for the opening day is between the Lead City Team and their counterpart from Lagos Ikoyi on Monday at 3:30pm for the Ade Alakija Memorial Cup.
