All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives aspirant in Ibadan North local government, Engr. Khalil Adegboyega Mustapha Repete, has declared his interest in contesting the Ibadan North Federal Constituency by-election.
The Ibadan North Federal Constituency seat became vacant due to the death of the former occupant, the late Hon. Olaide Akinremi Jagaban, who died on July 10, 2024, after a brief illness.
Repete told the Oyo APC executives, under the chairmanship of Chief Isaac Omodewu, through the party chairman in Ibadan North local government, Alhaji Taofeek Olayiwola, that he wanted to occupy the vacant seat to contribute his quota to the political and socio-economic growth of his federal constituency.
In his released statement after tendering his interest letter to the APC executives on Wednesday, Repete said he would give constituents of Ibadan North “good representation”. Repete also explained that he intended to add more quality to the good representation exhibited by the late Hon. Olaide Akinremi Jagaban.
“No doubt, our party, APC, Ibadan North local government, and Oyo state in general have lost one of their committed and promising politicians; it will take a while to replace his good representation. I pray to Almighty God to grant him eternal rest, moreover, give APC, his family, friends, and political associates the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”
“Moreover, as I have committed myself to serve my people, I intend to replace the late Lawmaker, Hon. Olaide Akinremi Jagaban, at the Green Chamber, for the continuity of his good service in our constituency as well as also to use the political channel to add more to my humanity.”
