The Oyo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the United Kingdom has declared that Oyo State especially Ibadan the State Capital has reclaimed the dirtiest City status in Nigeria under the watch of Governor Seyi Makinde.
The body says the administration of late former Governor Abiola Ajimobi has redeemed the image of Ibadan as the dirtiest City in Nigeria before the advent of the incumbent administration but lamented that the City is back to the “inglorious” era.
The positions of the party was stated today by the Secretary of the Oyo State Chapter of the APC in the United Kingdom, Honourable Olasupo Phillips while featuring on BOTTOM LINE a weekly political programme on IBR 92.5fm Ibadan host by Aanuoluwapo Omorinde monitored by our Correspondent.
His words “look at the City! Its very dirty. How can Investors come here with this level of dirt?”.
He alleged that the government of Governor Seyi Makinde hurriedly sacked the refuse Collectors.
According to him “why did he (the Governor) hurriedly sack the refuse Contractors. You don’t handle governance that way. Ajimobi gave Ibadan and Oyo State a face lift but what do we have today? Reverse is the case”.
“Look at the Akobo road for God’s sake. It is so dusty. The medians are not better off”.
He argued that so many things have changed negatively since Ajimobi handed-over as the Governor of Oyo State.
Speaking on the State of education in the State, he insisted that it is in a “parlous state”.
He queried the rationale behind the cancellation of the education levy initiated by Ajimobi advising Governor Seyi Makinde to have a re-think about it.
