Ibadan Christ Apostolic Grammar School, Aperin Oniyere, on Saturday 28th, January celebrates 63rd Founder’s Day Anniversary.
The event which was held at the school premises also featured commissioning of a block of class rooms, principal’s office recently renovated by the 1982 set and inspection of the ongoing school library renovation.
Secretary, Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Oyo state council, Dr. Olusegun Abatan who delivered an anniversary lecture titled “Planning, Managing Retirement & Pension Matters”, enumerated the need for all to plan adequately for retirement.
While calling on those still in service to plan towards their retirement from service, Abatan called on Civil servants and those in the private sectors to start engaging in business ahead of their retirement.
Rev. Babatunde Omikunle and Dr. Segun Fatoki who were discussants also highlighted the key elements of planning towards a stress free retirement.
In his remarks, the President of the old students Association (ICAGSOBA), who was formerly a Commissioner of Education in Oyo state, Dr. Morohunkola Thomas admonished all members of the old students association to keep the flag flying.
He commended the contributions of members towards the growth of the school and he advised members not to stop giving back to their alma mater when called upon to do so
The anniversary was also a reunion for many old students of the school as they connected with one another after leaving the school over a long period of time.
