The factional Chairman, Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Oyo State, Folahan Oluyinka has denied collecting the sum of N50 Million from the state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde to put the party in his pocket ahead the 2023 election.
Comrade Folahan said the story was fabricated by his political enemies to undermine his efforts in building the party adding that he needs to put the record straight in order to correct the rumour spreading like wild fire across the state.
According to him, the state governor has never given him money to buy over SDP ahead the forth coming polls saying, all the money he has expended on the party was from his sweat.
“My political enemies are going about saying governor Makinde is using me to put SDP in his pocket and that I have received huge amount of money from him.
“A lawyer who is a grassroot person called me to tell him the truth that I collected the sum of N50 Million from the governor to buy the party for him ahead 2023 election.
Addressing Journalists on the the crises rocking the party in the last few months, Comrade Folahan said those who are hell bent to hijack the party including Alhaja Mulika Akande Adeola and Micheal Okunlade are making great mistakes of their lives, adding that he remains the one dictating affairs of the party.
Folahan said Michael Okunlade and his members who have been parading themselves as Executive members of the party were served restraining order by Justice A.L Akintola of the High Court in Ibadan to stop parading themselves as Exco members of the party.
“They went to file a motion against me too in the court to remove the restraining order, but the Judge, because of that action extended the restraining order.
“I am the one in charge dictating affairs of the party even though, Okunlade despite the court restraining order has been parading himself as chairman of SDP in the state.”.
Comrade Folahan said the crises started when they discovered that another Congress had been done, announcing Okunlade as chairman of SDP in Ibadan.
According to him Okunlade knows nothing about the party and has not resigned his membership from the peoples Democratic Party.
Comrade Yinka Folahan emerged chairman of SDP on April 9, 2022 in the State at a congress held at National Museum, Ibadan
Another one in which Mr Kola Balogun intended to contest chairman, which was billed to hold at Havanah Royale Hotel and Conference Centre, Ibadan could not hold, claiming that the congress which produced Okunlade and his members was the only one recognised by the national Secretariat.
