Parents and residents of Lagelu/Akinyele Federal Constituency have been commending the Founder of Hassan Olawale Giwa (HOG) Foundation, Arc. Hassan Giwa over the payment of the 2021 West African Examination Council (WAEC) fees of some students across the constituency.
The event witnessed a sum of N20,000.00 being paid for each beneficiary student for this year’s examination expenses.
The presentation ceremony was held on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at the HOG Foundation’s Office, located at Texaco Bus-Stop, Iwo-Road, Ibadan.
While speaking during the presentation of cheques to the beneficiary students, Arc Hassan Giwa, who was represented by Hon. Akeem Arowomole, disclosed that the gesture is one of the objectives of the foundation to contribute to the development of education and humanity in general.
Arc Giwa revealed that the focus of the HOG Foundation Educational Support Scheme is to assist the children of the less privileged people within our community, who are doing well in their studies to further their educational career.
The APC chieftain speaks further, “we did not merely give out money, we are encouraging the students to strive to give out their best irrespective of background to enable them to become good ambassadors of their family. With this, we believe the gesture will compliment whatever their parents have been doing towards giving them good education and better tomorrow.”
Arc. Giwa charged the beneficiary students to put in more effort in their studies to ensure that they pass their examinations with good grades.
He disclosed that HOG Foundation is ready to support students from the constituency who pass his or her examination at once in the collection of JAMB.
Giwa, a lover of education, maintained that arrangement is in top gear for the distribution of free school uniforms to pupils in the primary section across the constituency and vocational training programmes for the youth.
“We don’t want to stop at that, we are planning another batch of support for pupils in primary schools. We want to do that to make education attractive for the children of the poor and less privileged.”
Emphasizing on what the foundation has been doing for the past 16 years, HOG Foundation Founder stated that the foundation has distributed over 100 thousand exercise books for public primary and secondary schools students, renovated several classrooms, payment of Common Entrance fees, distributed of uniforms for primary school pupils as well as provision of furniture.
He used the opportunity to call on the well-meaning individuals in the society to use their resources for the development of mankind in order to make life a better place to live.
The Chairman, All Progressive Congress (APC) Lagelu Local Government, Hon. Kehinde Adeleke applauded Arc. Giwa for always lifting the banner of the party in the local government and the constituency at large.
He appealed to the beneficiary students to see the gesture as an opportunity and make good use of it by passing their examination with good grades.
Parents of the beneficiary students also commended Arc. Giwa for relieving them financial burden of the WAEC expenses. They prayed for the actualization of his dream in no distance to come.
